Age 68 of Riverview. 

Mary Ellen Lazuka, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, born on October 4, 1956, in Wyandotte, MI, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2025, in Riverview, MI, at the age of 68. Her life was a testament of love, resilience, and a spirit that inspired all those in her company.

Mary dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker and mother, roles in which she found immense joy and fulfillment. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Mary’s passion for life extended far beyond her home. She looked forward to weekends spent at the lake with family and friends enjoying “booze cruise” pontoon rides, games, and starry nights around the bonfire. Her zest for life also shone attending concerts with her husband, traveling to support her grandkids in their interests and enjoying many other social activities.

Her love for people was evident in her interactions, as she touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion.

Mary’s medical journey was an inspiring testament to her resilience as she fought her cancer with courage, strength and deep faith serving as an inspiration to us all.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Allen Lazuka, her mother-in-law Helen Gohsman, her brother David Renner (Cindy) and her sister-in-law Mary Jo Renner. Mary is preceeded in death by her parents Lloyd and Marion Renner and her brothers Hank, Doug and her sister Susan who have gone before her, enriching the heavens with their presence.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: Jeff (Kristen) Lazuka, Anne (Brian) Rilley, Christine (Brandon) Malinowski and Jaclyn (Chad) Behrik.

Mary’s grandchildren, Keagan, Chase, Ila, Parker, Jaxon, Tate, Brody, Charlotte and Rory will carry forward Mary’s legacy of joy and strength and will grow up hearing stories of their remarkable Meema.

Her wonderful life was filled with love, laughter, and an unforgettable smile. Her memory and her beautiful spirit will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
