John Michael (Mick) O’Toole, 87, passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 9, 2024. Born on December 27, 1936, to the late, Bernard and Mary (McDermott) O’Toole, in Detroit, MI.

Mick’s life was a testament to enduring love and family commitment. He married Carol Snook on January 18, 1958, at St. Frances Cabrini in Allen Park, MI. Although their paths later diverged, they continued to share an unshakable friendship that stood as a pillar of support throughout the years. Their legacy is lovingly carried on by their children: Margaret (Peggy) Maffeo, Patrick O’Toole, Daniel O’Toole, Kathleen (Ray) Walters, Gerald (Tara) O’Toole, and Kerry (Robert) Murray; a lineage further blessed with the joy of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mick is preceded in death by his significant other Carol, a bond forever cherished, his parents, Bernard and Mary O’Toole, and his brothers Jerry (Carol), Jim (Stephanie), and Bud (Ellie) O’Toole.

Mick devoted a significant chapter of his life as a Pressman at Gaylord Printing Co. and dedicated over 20 years as Vice President to the Graphic Communications Union. His educational journey of two years of college, laid the groundwork for his professional achievements. He held a profound passion as a High School Football and Little League Coach. His love for the outdoors was evident in his delight for duck hunting and fishing.

Remembered as loving, kind, and funny, John had the unique gift of infusing joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew him. His presence will be dearly missed, his well-lived life serves as a cherished memorial to who he was and the love he spread.
