Dorothy Ellen Karp | September 19, 1940 – September 23, 2023

Dorothy Ellen Karp of Wyandotte entered her heavenly home on September 23, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 61 years, love of her life James, and their three adoring children Carole (Larry) Noel, Ronald (Karen) Karp, and Jill (late David) Kurcz. She is also survived by her five grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Meghan, Ryan, Jimmy, Carrie and Abby; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, and many dear nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Thadeus and Laura Konchal and her best friend and sister Janet Grande.

Dorothy’s faith in God and devotion to her Savior Jesus Christ was the most important thing to her, and she served Him through her service to others her whole life. She was active in her church St. Patrick Church of St. Vincent Pallotti Parish for many years, serving as a Eucharistic minister at Henry Ford Wyandotte hospital, as a funeral lunch helper, and cleaned the church with husband Jim for many years. Dorothy’s skills at doing most anything, from cleaning to gardening and everything in between, were impeccable, and God gifted her with such a knack for showing her love in the most special ways.

Dorothy cherished the simple things in life: spending time with her husband and family, fun family weekends and vacations in Florida and northern Michigan, and just being together with all those she loved so much. She was the heart of her family and loved by them beyond words.
