June – Religious Education Registration Now Open!
Save $10 by registering by August 15! Classes available from Kindergarten to Confirmation. Two sessions to choose from on Tuesday evenings to fit your schedule. Either from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Call the Religious Education office at 734-285-9840, ext. 102 or by going to our website at www.stvpp.org under “Religious Formation”.
June – Blessing in a Brown Bag
In cooperation with the Wyandotte Ministerial Group, we are assisting with providing items for children’s lunches during the summer sessions to four Wyandotte Elementary Schools and the Bacon Library during the summer. We are asked to donate “fruit cups” to go into their lunch bags. Bring your donation to either of our two Wyandotte churches: St. Joseph Church, 344 Elm Street or St. Patrick Church, 135 Superior Blvd. and drop in the designated bins. If you have time and would like to help pack the lunches, call Mary Cottone for more information at 313-689-5313. Fruit cups may be dropped off through August 30. Thank you for your support!
July 18 – All Saints Soup Kitchen – 8:30 am
Meet at St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot behind the parish office for car pooling down to All Saints Soup Kitchen in Detroit. Help prepare and distribute food for lunch. If you’d like to prepare a dessert for the group, please bring to the Parish Office, 334 Elm Street, Wyandotte on Tuesday, July 17 between 9 am and 3:00 pm. Thank you for your support!
July 19 – Maurice Salad Luncheon – 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
St. Joseph Church Hall, 344 Elm Street, Wyandotte – Please join us for this annual luncheon hosted by the “Happy Cookers” of the parish. Cost is $10 and includes salad, roll, dessert and beverage. Carry outs also available. Door prizes and raffles also taking place. A fun time for the entire family! Tickets are available in the Parish Office at 334 Elm Street, Wyandotte or by calling 734-285-9840, ext. 100. Proceeds to benefit the Poor and Needy Fund of the parish.
July 21/22 – On the Rise Bakery Cafe’
St. Joseph Church Hall, 344 Elm Street, Wyandotte – After all Masses – The bakers from On The Rise Bakery Café will be selling their bakes goods after all Masses in the St. Joseph Church Hall. The bakery is a program of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. The bakers have recently been released from prison or have completed a substance abuse treatment program. They truly want to change their lives. With each purchase you are helping make possible the provision of supportive housing, training, counseling services, educational opportunities, and self help programs.
July 28 – Downriver Dementia Education Session “Understanding Dementia Related Behaviors”
Atria Kinghaven, 14800 King Rd., Riverview – This topic will help you understand common behaviors related to most dementias. Learn how to interpret and understand why your loved one is doing what they are doing and what their needs are. Free session will include a complimentary breakfast or lunch. Breakfast begins at 10 am / lunch at 11 am. Call Karen Roberts for your choice of meal at 734-479-5900.
