Age 52 of Wyandotte.
Andrew John Wieczorek, a family man who requires no introduction, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 52, in the loving presence of his family. He departed this world for a new one at 4:44 a.m. while resting at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
Born on Tuesday, May 22, 1973, in Trenton, Michigan, to his late mother, Jane A. Wieczorek (Kwiatkowski), and late father, Adam A. Wieczorek, Andy was loved deeply by his parents. After having endured the heartbreak of several infant losses, they were blessed with the birth of their only son.
At age 17, Andy attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School in Wyandotte, where he met the love of his life, Kathleen Ann Malenfant, then age 14. They blossomed into adulthood together, joining in marriage on Thursday, May 11, 1996, at the ages of 22 and 19, respectively. Through his union with his high school sweetheart, he gained eight incredible siblings who embraced him as their own brother. Later, Andy and Kathy were blessed with three children: Brian Alan Wieczorek (Peyton), Heather Terese Mobley (Wieczorek) (Dustin), and Cody David Wieczorek. They were the force that inspired Andy to persevere, to stay strong, and to always uphold his principles, regardless of the adversity present.
Andy loyally dedicated 23 years of his professional career working for ITS ConGlobal, a large rail operations, transportation, and logistics service provider, where he finished his career as an Operations Manager. During his tenure, he prided himself on his standout work ethic, innate leadership, natural sense of humor, and uncompromising integrity. In the months prior to his diagnosis, he was happy to receive a well-earned Employee of the Year award, an achievement of which his family is deeply proud.
Andy’s true passion and happiness were rooted in his devotion to his family. His greatest reward was spending quality time with them during his 10-month battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer: Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma, not otherwise specified. Andy was especially pleased to have the chance to meet his greatest source of joy and an infectious light in a dark time his wonderful granddaughter, Avery Lane Mobley, who was born only four months after his diagnosis.
Despite the strength of his cancer, Andy fought a battle to be proud of. Never once did he stop being himself. He remained eager to cut the grass, change the oil in the cars, shovel snow, clean the pool, maintain the garden, and do all the other things he enjoyed. A common sight was Andy under a blazing hot sun with a chemotherapy bag on his shoulder, his head held high, and his feet swiftly moving as he mowed the lawn. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Andy could attest to his strength. He remained a strong, considerate, selfless, and hardworking man until the final moments before he left to return to his parents and to meet his late brother, John, and late sister, Cynthia, for the first time.
We gather now in remembrance to honor the life of Andrew John Wieczorek, a man we will never forget. May his memory remain with those he loved. In the dark shadow of winter’s cold touch, may the flowers bloom and beautiful plants breathe new life as the sun dispels the sorrow and warms the world.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreicated to Blood Cancer United.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
