Lee R. Williams, 87, of Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away on March 3, 2026.
Lee was born on June 1, 1938, in Newport, Tennessee. He built a distinguished career as a Bank Vice President with an expertise in Mortgage lending — a testament to the sharp financial mind that defined so much of who he was.
Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Loralei (Furtek) Williams; his children, Cheryl (Harry) Farrell, Kevin Williams and wife Lisa Gorno, and Kelly Williams; his grandchildren, Evan, Dante, and Owen Williams; his great-grandchild, Amaya Farrell; and his sister, Bonnie (late Richard Nelson) Williams and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn Williams and Lucille (Hill) Williams.
Lee made the most of life — whether he was hitting the golf course (and always under par), tinkering in the wood shop without too many recuts, or leading his family on cross-country adventures with a camper, determined to rack up miles and memories in every state and national park, and campground he could find. As a father and husband, Lee’s dedication knew no bounds. He spent endless hours guiding his children through Algebra and Geometry (with only minimal tears) and never missed a sporting event, showing up no matter how early, far, or confusing the directions were.
After retirement, Lee channeled his financial expertise into the preservation of some of Wyandotte’s historic homes. His knowledge and guidance helped ensure the successful renovation of some of the city’s treasured landmarks, leaving a lasting mark on the community he called home.
Lee will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
