Lois Adeline (Loucks) Miller was born on November 20, 1934, to Harold and Catherine Loucks. She grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan, attended St. Patrick Catholic School, and met the love of her life, Jerry Miller, while working at the Wyandotte Theatre during high school. Jerry and Lois were married in 1957 and celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2022.
Lois was devoted to her family and was dearly loved by her extended family and friends. She was known for her quick wit and legendary sass, both of which stayed with her throughout her final days. Lois welcomed visits from family and friends and especially enjoyed going out for a meal or sitting by the river, eating ice cream and watching the boats.
Lois was also a devoted Catholic who prayed the rosary daily and took great comfort in her faith. She will be greatly missed, but we take consolation in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband, Jerry.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, Harold and Catherine Loucks; her sisters, Judy, Jane, Mary, and Christine; and her brothers, Dick, Ed, and Orin.
She is survived by her sisters, Carol, Betty, and Denise; her brothers, Bob, Fred, and Kent; and her children, Jerald (Rebecca) Miller of Gladwin, Jeffrey (Robin) Miller of Flower Mound, Texas, and Heidi (Jerry) Kovl of Kalamazoo.
She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Lindsey Shartell, Lauren Shartell, Raychel (Tyler) Lusczki, Patrick (Erin) Miller, Sophie Miller, Sam Miller, Owen Kovl, Will Kovl, and Emma Kovl; as well as six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Vincent Pallotti Parish, Wyandotte.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
