St. Vincent Pallotti Parish at St. Joseph Catholic Church
334 Elm, Wyandotte, MI 48192

Marion Davis, age 92 was born and raised in Wyandotte and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church in Wyandotte. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. Marion worked at J.L. Hudson’s for 45 years, first at the downtown Detroit Hudson’s, then at the Northland Hudson’s in Southfield which required her to learn to drive at the age of 50.

She was very generous with her family, her Church, and the many charities she supported.

She was committed to her Catholic faith. After Marion retired and when she still drove, she would attend many church services. Father Mike Cremin once called her, one of the nuns of St. Joe’s. Most people knew her as Aunt Tutz. She would say, even the priest at church calls me Tutz. When she no longer drove, she would make sure and arrange with a family member to get her to Church. She would never miss Sunday Mass and enjoyed going to the parish dinners.

She would send cards including a gift for birthdays and holidays to all the children in her family including nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews for many years.

Growing up her young nephews knew Aunt Tutz would make sure the most sought after gift of the year was under the tree for Christmas. Marion was an expert shopper and loved to find just the right gift for everyone. She would say shopping was her hobby and would make her rounds at all the stores up and down Eureka from Wyandotte to Taylor.

Marion and her sister Dolores enjoyed going to Church Festivals and liked to listen to the Polka bands. Marion was a devoted sister and took care of her older sister Dolores in her failing health.

She was a good and decent person only saying good things about everyone and if someone was having a hard time, she would be supportive and optimistic.

Her family will miss her very much, she was always a stabilizing, unifying, positive, loving influence. We all know she will be praying for us now in heaven, instead of here on earth.

Marion was a Davis but her family included; the Halash’s,  Ulevich’s,  Martin’s, Tocco’s,  Sullivan’s,  Sutherby’s,  Valint’s, Makowski’s, Grix’s, Dahlka’s, Wert’s, Drabczyk’s, Casey’s, Jastrzebski’s and the Behm’s families.

Marion had a large, loving family and her happiest times were when family members were gathered together.
