Age 82 of Wyandotte.

Mary Louise Dziurgot, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 at the age of 82.

Born on June 3, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Funk) Recore. 

She was raised in Wyandotte, MI where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She enjoyed her first career as a beautician and then became a teachers assistant in a local Montessori school. 

Mary Lou met and married the love of her life, Patrick Dziurgot at a young age and they shared many wonderful years together before his passing on September 2, 2015. The love they shared was a wonderful example to all who knew them. Mary Lou loved to bake her special chocolate chip cookies but her real joy came from helping others. She always had a special place in her heart for children and the elderly. 

Mary Lou had 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who were the light of her life. Having a special and unique relationship with each of them. 

Mary Lou is survived by her son John (Angela) Dziurgot, daughter Roxanne (Mark) Zemmin and grandchildren Ryan (Norma) Dziurgot, Brandon (Savannah) Dziurgot, Kale’ (Tom) Crowther, Phillip Adolph, Chelsea (Matt) Alexander, Jordan (Parker) Byrd, Cassidy (Josh) Gibson and great grandchildren Lennon Crowther, Morgan Crowther, Finley Byrd, Bruce Alexander and Abigail Gibson. 

Also surviving are her sisters Edna Trudell of Riverview, MI and Janet Callahan of Southgate, MI, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She is preceded in death by siblings Fred Recore, Kenneth Recore and Jane Shorter. 

Mary Lou’s example of love and her love of laughter will live on in the family she cherished and all of the lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, Mary Lou’s family asks that donations be made to the Mary Louise Dziurgot Memorial Tree Fund at https://gofund.me/37d11a90d.

On Friday, September 26th, there will be a visitation from 9:30-10:00 AM with a funeral mass immediately following at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 334 Elm Street, Wyandotte, MI 48192. All are welcome to join the family for a luncheon after mass.
