The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph (Fay) Cahalan, Maureen was a graduate of The Convent of the Sacred Heart in Grosse Pointe Park and attended Barat College in Chicago before marrying Larry Loselle in 1960. Together they owned and operated Lincoln Village Apartments, in Lincoln Park, for more than 30 years.
Active in local civic organizations (The Junior League of Catholic Women, The Metro Detroit YMCA, and others), and a longtime member of the West Shore Golf and Country Club of Grosse Ile, where she contributed to the planning of many events. Maureen was also a talented silversmith who exhibited throughout the Detroit area and often donated her work to charity.
Maureen cherished many lifelong friendships, and will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her sociability, good humor, graciousness and humility.
Having recently celebrated 65 years of marriage, Maureen is survived by her husband and children, Gregory and Valerie (Timothy) Downs, three grandchildren—Leo (Ashley), Larry (Torie Keene), and Timothy Downs—and three great-grandsons, Carlisle, Logan, and Roric Downs.
She will be missed by many who knew her throughout her life.
