Ronald “Ron” Miskelley | September 5, 1947 – May 29, 2026

Ronald “Ron” Miskelley, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2026, in Anderson, South Carolina. Born on September 5, 194 7, in Winfield, Alabama, Ron lived a life filled with love, dedication and community service.

Ron shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife and best friend, Nancy Miskelley (nee Daniel). Together, they created a life full of love and adventure. Ron was a devoted father to their three children: Stephanie Gill (David), Steve Miskelley (Jill), and Brian Miskelley. He was also the proud grandfather to Sam Gill, Kelly Gill, Chelsea Garcia (Jeremiah), Ian Miskelley, Daniel Miskelley, Jonathan Miskelley, and many nieces and nephews. His family brought him immense joy and were central to his life.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Sarah Loden Miskelley Bonner and Albert Floyd Miskelley; most recently, his grandson Ian Miskelley, his brothers Donnie Miskelley and Stanley Miskelley; his sister Brenda Bernath; sister-in-law Susan Miskelley, and brother -in-law Tom Bernath.

Ron built an impressive career at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he served as Director of Sales, Commercial Power. His work allowed him to foster relationships with client companies through his roles on various boards. After decades of hard work and dedication, Ron retired from Briggs & Stratton in 2009.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ron was deeply committed to serving his community. During his time in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Ron held multiple leadership roles on the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, including Chairman of the Board across three terms. In Delafield, Wisconsin, he served as an Alderman for the city for two terms.

A man of deep faith and community spirit, Ron was an active member of several Catholic churches throughout his life. He served as a Lector, Communion Minister and held the position of President of St. Joseph Men’s Club. His efforts in organizing and working fundraisers reflected his dedication to supporting his church community.

Ron’s zest for life was evident in the hobbies and activities he embraced. An avid sports fan with a particular passion for Alabama football and the Detroit Lions, Ron’s enthusiasm was infectious. Whether convincing others of Alabama’s greatness or organizing a memorable family guys’ weekend trip to Charlotte to watch the Lions play the Panthers, Ron’s love for sports brought people together. He found joy in golf, playing bridge with friends, traveling to historical sites, and engaging in meaningful conversations. A voracious reader with a wealth of knowledge on countless topics, Ron was always ready to share insights or spark an engaging discussion.

Social connections were a cornerstone of Ron’s life. He and Nancy were long standing members of the “41 Club”, meeting regularly with dear friends to enjoy each other’s company. During his retirement years working at Home Depot, Ron also enjoyed a close-knit group – the “Home Depot Group”. This group rotated hosting enjoyable gatherings at each others homes throughout the year. Lastly, Ron was also a member of a men’s social club known as “The Gentlemen’s Club” and enjoyed the interaction with likeminded men of faith.

Ron’s legacy is one of love, faith, community involvement, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. His outgoing nature and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to teambebetter.org in Holland, Michigan, a family-centered mental health care facility that provides education, navigation and support to families searching for mental health care at no cost. It was created in memory of Ron’s grandson, Ian Miskelley.
