Margery E. Swint, age 96, of Buford, GA and a native of Wyandotte, MI, passed away on February 19, 2022.
Margery was a homemaker, and along with her husband Dean, raised seven children while keeping up with the many activities and challenges of a large family. While a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Atlanta, she was active in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and an original member of the Atlanta Cursillo Movement in the 1960’s. After a return to Michigan, she worked as an auxiliary volunteer at Wyandotte General Hospital in the 80’s and 90’s. She also renewed her love of drawing and art by taking classes at a local community college while expanding her talents further in the silk screening, wood etching, and ceramic disciplines. A night out playing Bingo, at one of the many social halls in town, always served as an enjoyable getaway to meet with old and new friends. In later years, on returning to Georgia after the death of her husband, she was a regular at the Buford Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by husband Dean Swint, son Daniel Swint, parents Martin T. Shelata Sr. and Claire Reinke Shelata, brothers Martin T. Shelata Jr., Gerald Shelata, sister Mary Ellen Czadzeck and son-in-law John Mangan.
Her survivors include son David Swint (Linda), daughter Deanna Daniel (Bob), daughter Carolyn Fronczak (Jerry), daughter Denise Mangan, daughter Cathy Player (Kenny), son Dean Swint (Jeanette), daughter-in-law Anne Swint, grandchildren Michael Swint (Heather), Matthew Swint (Jennifer), David P.
