Frances Irene Kosowski was born on September 2, 1925 in Wyandotte, MI to Frances and Albert Srebniak. She passed away on December 21st at the age of 98. Her parents migrated to the United States from Poland and Austria, respectively and met and married in Pennsylvania, later moving to Wyandotte. Frances was the 4th of 5 children; Cecelia (Thomas), Elizabeth (Olszewski), John, Frances (Kosowski) and Irene (Patterson).

While working as a beautician, Frances met and later married her one true love, Ralph Kosowski on September 26th, 1946. They bought a home together in 1948 on Maple Street in Wyandotte, just five doors down from where Ralph grew up. After Ralph died in 2006, Frances remained in this home for a total of 73 years before moving to assisted living in 2021.

Frances and Ralph had a wonderful life together while raising four boys – Ken, David, Ralph and Wayne. While maintaining the household and raising her boys, she also worked part time outside the home at Sears for many years. She and Ralph loved to travel and took the boys on many cross-country vacations.

Frances was very proud of her boys and remained supportive of them and their respective families throughout her entire life. The family gathered together for nearly every annual holiday including Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Every year on Dec. 23rd she was with family to make dozens of pierogis that were devoured on Christmas eve. The family also celebrated her birthday every year on Labor Day weekend. She cherished every word on every birthday card and saved them all!

With their love of travel, Frances and Ralph spent winters in Ruskin, Florida. They took many cruises from the local Port together with friends and ultimately took an Alaskan cruise together. Frances also loved to cook, bake, sew, knit and read. Her baked goods were loved by all during the holidays. Grace Marie Noto was born on August 5, 1933 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Salvatore and Anna DiMaggio. She passed away on December 17, 2023 at the age of 90 in Trenton, Michigan.

Grace was the second child born in a family of four. She grew up in the north end of Wyandotte and never lived more than 10 miles from the family house on Clark Street. Grace went through the Wyandotte Public School system and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1952.

Grace worked as a cashier at Big Bear grocery store on Sycamore St. in Wyandotte after graduation. Her friendly smile and efficient register work cultivated a large clientele who would make it a point to purposefully wait in her check out line.

During a family visit to Hamilton, Ontario in the late Fifties, Grace met Vincent Noto who had recently moved there from Sicily. They went on a date and, working through translators, were engaged to be married that same night. They were married in 1959 and celebrated their 64th anniversary last June.

Grace was the proud mother of Anthony, Salvatore, and Anna Marie. She was a full time mother and homemaker. She was the hostess to many family parties at her long-time home in Riverview, including having more than 50 guests every Thanksgiving for many years. Grace loved to cook for her family and her greatest fear was running out of food, which never, ever happened.

Her family grew and she welcomed grandchildren Dominic, A.J., Amanda, Alexandra and Melissa. Nobody thought any group of children could be more loved and spoiled until later in her life when great-grandchildren Ellis, Luca, Oliver, Isabella and Stella were born. One never saw her happier than when they visited.

Grace is survived by her children Anthony (Danielle) Noto, Salvatore (Carol) Noto, and Anna Marie Rogers (Shunbe Nedd); her grandchildren Dominic (Sarah) Noto, Andrew (Chelsea) Noto, Amanda Kurtz (Taylor), Alexandra Noto and Melissa Noto; and her great-grandchildren Ellis, Luca, Oliver, Isabella, Stella, and Caroline.

Grace is also survived by one sibling, Ann Chevalier, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Anna (Pinto) DiMaggio and two siblings: Angela Mazzara and Marco “Michael” DiMaggio.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Allen Park Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes.
